Energitismo Insight

The Venice Biennale is one of the oldest international exhibitions of contemporary art in the world. The first exhibition dates back to 1895 to stimulate artistic activity in the unified Italian state. The initiative was founded by a group of intellectuals led by the mayor Riccardo Selvatico with resolution of 1893 to "set up an exhibition biennial national artistic exhibition". The name "Biennale" is derived from the period of two years of each of its events and today this term has become a synonym for a big international event.
