St. George represents the good that conquers over evil and he is one of the most beloved saints of the Christian tradition.
Also for Muslims the figure of St. George is respected and he is considered a prophet.
The icons that represent St George are part of the ancient tradition and those of Anna Maria Tondello have a particular intensity and quality that attract the viewer.
ANNAMARIA E MARIANGELA TONDELLO
Anna Maria fell in love with icon painting when she was 20 and she saw a postcard. She followed her growing passion to Milan where she studied under a master.
Mariangela followed her sister soon afterwards and they create together: one is responsible for the traditional base and one for the paintings. To learn the ancient technique they attended courses with Russian masters and visited orthodox monasteries that conserve the artisanal secret of wood and colors technique. Anna Maria is now a master and her Icons reflect her soul and communicate her peace and harmony.

Italy, Bassano Del GrappaFIND IT HERE
Bassano del Grappa was renamed from Bassano Veneto, after the first world war, to commemorate the battles on Mount Grappa above the town. It is famous for creating Grappa and for the Palladio covered wooden bridge, often destroyed, but lovingly re-built. Bassano and its river Brenta connect the mountains to Venice 80 km south east.
