Murano – Ex Church Santa Chiara

  • Murano – Ex Church Santa Chiara

Energitismo Insight

It had an exciting history from its initiation over 700 years ago, later becoming a convent and then being taken over by Napoleon during his period in Venice, and eventually, prior to the collapse, being a glass factory. Just a few years ago the ex church of Santa Chiara on Murano was a ruin, much of it destroyed and the roof fallen. It has now been restored to its architectural glory by the hands and love of the family Belluardo. It has been converted into a living museum of glass technology and craftsmanship where visitors can watch, meet and greet the masters of glass, as well as being overcome by the magnificence of the works of glass on display and for sale.
