Energitismo Insight

Often the word "craftsman" is used and abused in its meaning. Mostly, for those who call themselves craftsmen, their work is interwoven with wisdom, innovation and technological tools. Then how are we going to define a person who refuses to use any technological advances? Perhaps we can define Alfio as an "ultra-craftsman", a person who creates his bags imagining them being worn by women strolling in Venice, and he is a person who manufactures using only scissors, needle and thread. All materials used are first quality skins and leather, and when he uses linen or hemp he gets them from a factory in Feltre where for 600 years they have worked in the same way.

ALFIO TERRONI

Alfio became a craftsman in the hippie period while living in a community near Venice. Skins and leather immediately attracted him and he started making bags to sell in local markets.

His particular style, the craftsmanship and originality of his bags are highly appreciated and in 2014 he was invited to demonstrate creating his bags at Palazzo Pitti during the Haute Couture fashion shows.

Location

Italy, CodigoroFIND IT HERE

Located on the delta of the Po, the longest Italian River, Codigoro developed in the middle ages around the Benedictine Abbey of Pomposa. Originally built on an island, the Abbey is now on the Mainland as a result of various deviation works during the wars between Ferrara, Venice and the Papal States which repeatedly changed the course of the river.

1671 was the year in which the Abbey was abandoned and Codigoro began a new life as a commercial crossroads with a fair that still continues.
