The church of Santa Maria Assunta was originally Romanesque and was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1703. Along the nave open symmetrically five chapels. In one of these we find a precious wooden altar. Under the main altar is the embalmed body of St. Benedict (probably a French soldier). In 2009 the new Ahlborn-Ferraresi organ was inaugurated, mixed technical functions, with four real and fifty virtual registers. For its acoustics the Collegiate Church it is often home to concerts of sacred music.
