Energitismo Insight

The church of St. Peter the Apostle was built in Romanesque style in the twelfth century on the remains of a temple of the Hellenistic period by the monks of St. Paul Outside the Walls. It incorporates a former watchtower against the Saracens, transformed into a bell tower. It preserves the oldest materials: marble friezes of the second century were reused as jambs of the entrance, and reuse was also made of a capital of the presbytery and burial altar.
