Energitismo Insight

It is said that the image of the Madonna and Child of the 13th century, depicted in the act of blessing St. Gregory the Great on his knees, was 'taken away' (removed) from the soil in which it was buried and hence the name of the church. The building dates back to the fifteenth century and in 1700 the facade was transformed. The church has a single nave with walls completely covered with undated frescoes. Probably they are the work of several painters and created at different times.
