• Acropolis

Energitismo Insight

The Acropolis is a vast area of quadrilateral shape (140 x 95 meters) whose slopes are fortified and shaped by imposing masonry. The wall is built with two different techniques: a base in large blocks of limestone with directly overlying walls of travertine. This dates the structure back to two different eras - a very old period (Pelasgian, Poligonale) and a Roman. On the Acropolis there is the Cathedral of Saints John and Paul, and the Bishop’s Palace with adjoining garden and seminary.
