Torrita Tiberina is located east of Rome in a natural area and takes its name from the nearby Tiber River. It is crossed by its tributary Farfa. The small village was formed around the Palace of the Savelli, named after the family that for centuries has managed these areas, and all village life took place in the court. Inside the building there is also the main church of the village, the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle. Here he is buried Aldo Moro killed in May of 1978, after his abduction and the 55 days of captivity.
