Torre Cajetani is a Ciociarian commune on the Ernici mountains and owes its name to the Caetani Cajetani family to which it belonged for a long time. Its origins date back to 1180, as attested by a scroll which describes a well organized fortified town, whose defense is entrusted to its inhabitants themselves. Since 1303, as a result of a Papal Bull, Cajetani Torre passed to the Caetani family and here Pope Boniface VIII came to drink mineral water (water of Fiuggi) for treatment of kidney stones.
